OOH JEEZ!!! i can't believe it is valentine's day tomorrow!!! as my mom would say 'oh, good grief!'!!!! (my sweetheart placed a beautiful bouquet of roses on the counter!)Charlie has early release all week. except friday, no school. and monday, no school. And guess what?!?! i somehow convinced sweet brian to go to the beach!!!! YYYAAAAYYYYYYY!!!! (sorry, i cannot contain my excitement for one more second!) I LOVE going to the beach. no matter if it is blue skies and sunny or windy and rainy. (just no tsunami warnings please!) Grandma Barge is coming over friday, and we will all go sunday morning!!!! charlie is even super excited! he wrote a fourteen page story about it!!!! he is currently kicking my butt in a checkers game. no really. he is. he is also really loving his swim classes too. he is now an "eel" the next level after "pike". apparently it is rare to only do the 'eel' level only once. so that is good :)
we were texting with auntie beth yesterday, she said she heard thunder. charlie says "
no fair!". he knew she had snow too!
he is doing much better in his attitude about going to school. he has a substitute this week. but since i have been going to his class on tuesdays, for what is called "daily three", he seems to be doing so much better. i think it may just be a coincidence. but either way, i am glad! was a bit ridiculous for a while there!
Isaiah started speech at the same school charlie used to go to. different teacher, and there is one other kid in his "class".
we got a dresser for the boys to share at ikea yesterday. took all afternoon to put it together!! they had fun with it though. will post pics of that later.
we are thrilled to see the daylight lasting longer. very much looking forward to some brighter days!
i am still anxiously awaiting the spring schedule for classes. it is going to depend on when the classes are offered for me to officially start school. the schedule will have to work with our school schedules. i am cleared to register. now just trying to figure out the financial aid part. should be interesting. i am in week four of a ten week class on the fundamentals of human nutrition. it is a class offered online. (totally free!!!!). but is a real course. it is a good practice gauge as far as me managing my time to study. it is through
coursera, you should check it out!!! they have so many cool courses! from sciences to business to arts, everything! way cool, if you have the time.
The cancer center is going well. i hope to have a few conversations (including asking for a letter of recommendation) with the nurses there to inquire about their journey to oncology nursing. i know it will take a while. and i don't have much confidence. but i can see an end result in that direction. i guess it is playing it safe with kind of sticking with what i know. if i were to finish a biology major. i don't have a clear picture on what i would do for a career. marine or environmental biology is of much interest. but i don't necessarily want to do research. but it would be cool to be out in the field. working with the turbines or something. but it seems there is a better chance to get into the oncology unit though. and we know that cancer isn't going away!
better run...boys are getting crazy!
